«With the coronavirus, velutina is not mentioned and continues to cause deaths»

Sandra Rojas, one of the researchers of the Atlantic Positive project, from the University of Vigo, speaks in La Voz de Galicia about the Velutina and the Atlantic Positive project.

In a situation where the media focus on the COVID-19 the Velutina continue to be a great risk to society and the environment throughout the Atlantic and Europe. The researcher is confident that the project will bring good results.

«We are with the European Atlantic-Positive project, with which we hope to make relevant contributions. We have several lines of research and one of them is based on elimination methods. Another line is to find nests more efficiently, because they are located very late. Another method that is tried is the evaluation of whether there are parasites in insects. Possible pathogens are being searched for biological control.» Sandra Rojas (UVigo).
